The Legislative Session was a Success!

Another session of the WV Legislature has been completed, and WVACo found success this year in passing bills, defending against other bills, and establishing an overall stronger presence before legislators and issues vital to West Virginia. First up:  HB 2827, passed and was signed by Governor Justice.  It allows WV Assessors the ability to hire staff outside the county, the only county office that did not have this ability.  Both the House of Delegates and Senate passed the bill unanimously, and was signed by the Governor on March 19.  It will be effective on May 29. WVACo Fall Board Meeting - A "Coming Together"

We just held our 2018 Fall Board Meeting of WVACo at the Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg - Wood County.  What a great event and great time.  Thank you to the Wood County Officials for all their help in putting it together, especially Circuit Clerk and Board Member Carole Jones.  She was so excited to host our meeting and made it that much more special.  She made sure we all had "good-y bags" of welcome.  Thank you, Carole!  It was great to be welcomed by all of you, and joined by Assessor David Nohe.   Thank you to Wood County Sheriff Steve Stephens, our newest Board member who jumped right in offer...
