Our legislative committee meets by conference call every Friday morning during the session.  The legislative highlight was the passage, against all odds, of the compensation increase for county officials which became effective July 1, 2006.

Revenue for counties will be enhanced with the passage of legislative rules which implement for the enforcement of collection of person property taxes from businesses through suspension or revocation of business registration licenses, in cooperation with the State Tax Deparment.

Each member group has representatives on the WVACo Legislative Committee.
